Tech Tip

The 2016 GMC Yukon and Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, Malibu, and Tahoe all offer a smart-headlight feature called “IntelliBeam.”  IntelliBeam automatically adjusts the high beams for oncoming traffic; it also detects tail lights!

So, how do they work?

IntelliBeam headlights automatically switch between high beams and low-beams in response to traffic conditions. This system uses a small sensor on the upper center of the windshield to detect the headlights or taillights of other vehicles in traffic and adjust your GMC or Chevy’s lighting accordingly.

IntelliBeam only activates under certain conditions. When high beams are unnecessary during the day, it is inactive. The system also will not activate unless the vehicle is going over 25 mph and it works better if the sensor area of the windshield is cleared and clean.

Come take a look at the IntelliBeam technology for yourself! We have GMC dealership locations in Golden Valley, MN and Rochester, MN and a Chevrolet dealership in Bloomington, MN. Any of our team members will be happy to help you out!
