Minnesota State Fair!

It’s coming to be that time of year again, the Minnesota State Fair is right around the corner! There are many new additions this year that we are looking forward to from rides to concerts to food (of course).

The tallest traveling ferris wheel – at a whopping 15 stories high – will be making it’s debut at the fair. For $5 per rider, we are excited to check out the night time views this ride will show us!

Whether you’re into country, pop or rock – The Grandstand line up has something going on for you. Sam Hunt, John Mellencamp, Pentatonix, Usher, Stevie Nicks, Nickelback are just some of your options this year at the fair.

Now let’s get down to the BEST part of the Minnesota State Fair… THE FOOD! The best way to enjoy the fair is to go with a group of people and share your food – this way, you can taste multiple dishes before getting full on a select few!

3 highly excitable food to check out his year includes:

  1. Mini Sconut at French Meadow Bakery & Cafe – buttermilk scones filled with chocolate, marshmallow, and Nutella, deep dried and topped with powdered sugar – Yes Please!
  2. For you Avocado lovers – Deep Fried Avocado – no explanation needed, right? Served with chipotle ranch dipping sauce! Found at O’Gara’s.
  3. Memphis Totchos – this interesting creation combines sliced banana and sautéed bacon and is dumped over tator tots, all topped with peanut sauce. You can find this  tongue-tantalizing treat at the Snack House.

Only a couple more weeks to go before we can surf through mobs of people and eat our favorite deep-fried-food-on-a-stick items! Tell us what you look forward to the most at your State Fair in the comments below!
